This video produced and directed by Milo Cumpstey was filmed at our recent district camp and shows Woodcrafters talking about what Woodcraft means for them.

Magpie Pioneers, a new group for young people aged 9 – 13, opens on Wednesday 6 September 2017.  We will be meeting every Wednesday evening at 6pm at the Lodge, Magpie Close, E7.

Over the summer we held a number of open days to give young people a taste of Woodcraft activities.

If you are interested in joining, please come along on Wednesday evening or email Alicia and Stuart at newham@woodcraft.org.uk

Newham Venturers joined groups from all over London for the annual camp at Stubbers Activity Centre.

Elfins and Pioneers held a successful camp at the Lambourne End Centre in September.

In the summer of 2016 a group from Newham went to Bavaria to join young people from across the world at an International Falcon Movement (IFM-SEI) Camp.  The social education programme was excellent and we all picked up good ideas for the International Woodcraft Camp of 2010: No Bread, No Techno.

Widening participation and increasing diversity are key aims for Newham Woodcraft. In 2016, we run an ambitious Solidarity Project in pursuit of this.  here.

On February 25th 1994, a gunman opened fire inside the Ibrahim Mosque in Hebron. He killed 29 praying people and injured a further 125 before he was himself killed.  The response of the Israeli military, since then, has been to clear sections of central Hebron, prohibiting Palestinians from walking down their main streets. Newham and Waltham Forest are supporting the international #OpenShuhadaSt campaign with their pop-up checkpoint in Stratford E15. Follow them on @abondbeteeenus.

Check out the short film they made following their visit to the Occupied Territories of Palestine, August 2015.
